Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope this newsletter finds you well as we wrap up the second week of the school year. It's been an exciting time for our students, and we wanted to provide you with an update on how they are adjusting to school life.
Student Adjustment and School Life:
It's truly heartwarming to see our students settling into their routines and adjusting to the new school year.
Engagement in Learning:
Our students have shown enthusiasm and a hunger for knowledge in their classes. Teachers have been impressed with their willingness to participate and their eagerness to learn.
Building Friendships:
Many new friendships are forming in and out of the classroom. We encourage students to continue fostering positive relationships and to include their peers in group activities.
Reminder About Respect:
Respect is a fundamental value that we hold dear at Pinecrest. It forms the basis for a harmonious and supportive learning community. We kindly ask for your assistance in reinforcing this message at home with your children:

Respect for Others: Encourage your child to be kind, empathetic, and considerate towards their peers and teachers. Remind them that everyone's ideas and feelings matter.

Respect for Property: Teach your child to take care of school property and the belongings of others. This includes their textbooks, classroom materials, and personal items.

Respect for Differences: Emphasize the importance of respecting diversity in our school. We celebrate our differences and believe that they make our community stronger.

Conflict Resolution: Encourage open communication with your child about resolving conflicts peacefully. We teach our students effective conflict-resolution strategies to help them navigate challenges.

Student accident insurance
Student accident insurance is available for purchase, on a voluntary basis. Caregivers may apply online at insuremykids.com or call 1-800-463-5437. The accident insurance coverage options range from $17.00/year to $33.00/year. All plans provide 24/7 coverage and a variety of important accident benefits (benefit limits differ based on plan selected). Meet the Educator Night - October 5th, 4:00 to 6:00 PM
We're excited to invite you to our upcoming "Meet the Educator Night" on October 5th, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. This event provides a wonderful opportunity for you to meet your child's teachers and get to know the dedicated professionals who will be guiding their educational journey this year. We look forward to seeing you there!
Terry Fox Run
Pinecrest Public School is participating in the Terry Fox School Run! We are so proud to be a part of this Canadian tradition in the fight against cancer. Walk a block
Did you know that walking all or part way to school helps create safer school zones by reducing vehicle congestion? If you live too far away from school to walk the whole way, consider parking 5 to 10 minutes away from the school and walking the rest of the way.
